What are the sources of India's traditional value. And what are our traditional value. How it got it evolution by the passage of time. Culture is never static and it gets reformed by the time.
VEDAS: THESE are philosophical books Dharmasasthras on Buddism and Jainism. Ramayana and mahabharatha are great epics. They are called 'puranas'. They are legends. All these basic texts are great cources of teaching social values.
The ancient Indian philosophical attitude promotes tolerance. Enlighment is achieved through debate. and discourse. because discourse opens new way of light.'Prajna is an important concept that indicates how one may pursue the three objectives of life. These three objectives are DHARMA , ARTHA, KAMA. Tolerence is a social reality.
Just as cows of varied colours yield the same white milk, all different paths lead to the same goal.
Buddhists and Jains are most fervent advocates of non-violence. They reject war and aggressive politics. Mahathma Gandhi revolutionised the idea of non-violence.
But by the attack of china and Pakisthan we learned the reality of power and significance.
Another feature of Indian tradition is absence of Imperialist tradition. And this imperialism includes cultural imperialism.
