**  Two types of stress-   Distress  and Eustress

**  Distress is generated in the negative context

**  Eu-stress is generated in the positive context

**  When you fail an examination you  may have stress which is Distress

**  The death of your  near and dear one  may cause of distress.

**  Big financial liability may  bring distress

** sexual abuse and harassment may  bring distress.

**  When you win a lottery say, Rs. 1 crore  you may have stress which is  Eustress

** Because you are shocked with  the prizes.

**  Is there any life without stress?  The answer is NO

**  Hence stress is an inevitable   mental state for survival and growth.

**  It is an essential aspect of Business of Life

**  Life is  always Goal oriented

**  Stress  always walk along with Goal

**  Then why the question of Stress management.

**  When the stress becomes a threat to the normal style  of life it is to be managed



CAUSES OF STRESS


**   STRESS is  mainly acquired. Acquired from the situation.

** It is mainly  a product of social learning.  

It  has got subjective nature also.

** Subjectivity and  Objectivity  are interrelated. 

**   It is question  GENERATED  from relationship

**   Relationship with man and material

**    Hence Stress is mainly a social product.

**    Stress is both subjective  and objective

**    Given situation or  context  does not bring stress to everybody   facing that particular context.

**    The degree of stress differ from persons to person in the same situation

**   For Eg:  Taking a Lift alone may bring stress to many people. And no stress at all for many others.

**   Children fear about injection too much but elders do not.

**   Skill and experience helps to  manage stress

** Higher the skill  lower is the Stress. Because  skill is practical wisdom.

**   Exposure to Experience is a best way of  stress management
** Experience develops skill

**   Hence stress is related to the style and power of  insight.

**   Stress  is influenced by Id-  Ego-  Super Ego.

**   If the Id- Ego- Super Ego is not working in harmony  stress is the result.

**  It simply means that one should not neglect the biological  instinct., Ego needs, and Moral governor

**  Cut throat competition bring stress/ competition even in common life  produce stress

**  Hence Avoid unhealthy competition.

**  What is Unhealthy and  Healthy is also subjective-  It differ from person to person

**  Time pressure also causes  for stress

**  Absence of planning brings Time pressure

**  stress  in its normal  level is a  state of dynamic mind

**  Hence make the stress creative

**  Too much orientation to ethics and morality causes for stress  and moral anxiety

**  Ego-centrism( Self centered attitude)  also causes stress

**  Aggressive nature of personality is another factor  causing stress.

**  Inhibition  produces stress ( inhibition is the suppressed state of mind)

**  Financial difficulty is another factor

**  Marital disharmony, Loss of  business, Risks of business,  etc. are other causes

**  Death  of spouse or children /Dear and Near causes for stress and anxiety.

**  Examination is the general cause for  stress.

Failure in love affair causes stress

Love is nothing but the aesthetic taste of sex

Natural calamity

Threatening of War

** The list is not exhaustive. In short anything that goes to hurt ID - EGO- or SUPER EGO causes for stress


MANAGING STRESS

**   The first condition to manage the stress is  to identify the causes of stress

**   Distorted ego brings stress  and anxiety.

**   Hence avoid poisons of mind  - Angry, Hatred, Sad, Hostility, Jealous

**  All these are root cause for ego distortion.

**  Keep assertive state of mind-  That  is stand for your right. 

**  Learn to Say   NO wherever  and whenever, it is needed

**  Because Humiliation brings Stress

**  Humiliation brings inhibition-  It is the suppressed state of mind- 

** Inhibition  causes stress

**  Too Much orientation to super ego region brings stress

**  Hence check your ethical status in a healthy way

** Never try to boost your personality

**  Learn genuine Expression

**  Avoid the habit of abstaining from your duty  and responsibility

**  Practice Surya samarkar two times every day( morning  and evening 20 minutes)

** Practice anuloma-viloma pranayama every morning and evening 5 to 10 times

Enjoy action songs with action.

Play Rhythmatic exercises. like ZUMBA

** Learn Progressive Relaxation  from a Counsellor

** learn positive Self Talk which will enhance your positive energy

** CONCENTRATE ON YOUR POSITIVE  PARTS

**  Deposit your Sub conscious with positive thoughts

**  BE Proud of your Achievements

**  Be optimistic

**  The power of  your  subconscious decides your power  of personality

**  learn to appreciate  other people.

**  learn to enjoy the merits of other people.

** Be confident with your achievements

** Engage in creative  activities- Avoid frequent  idle sitting-

** Engage in agriculture, - vegetable farming

**  Engage in sports

**  Participate in debates and discourse

**  Don't  quarrel with people.

** Enjoy  Action songs 

**  Enjoy it With  or without Action  

**  Enjoy Hot water bathing

**  Learn to enjoy sex in a positive way

**  Avoid sexual inhibition

**  Avoid day time sleeping

** sleep minimum of  7 hours at night(slight variation  O,K.)

**  Keep the family atmosphere friendly

** Learn  Expressed love 

** love is to express and enjoy and not an aspect to hide and suffer.

**  Make the  family atmosphere full of positive words and deeds

**  Go for excursion  with family or groups

**  Avoid egocentricism

**  Avoid time pressure-  Learn Time Management

**  There should have a Time schedule for every action.

**  Achieve your goal by Step by step action

** Don't  Be hurry

**  Hurry make you worry

**  Behaviour scanning

Every time a Negative element crop up throw it away

** Be empathetic

**  Develop Social skill

**  Avoid procrastination- Everything is postponed for a future time.It is a negative habit

**  Avoid  immoral interests( it is trespassing the interest of other people)

**  Learn that "freedom is the accommodation of interest."

**  Hence Learn to ADJUST AND ADAPT

**  Intelligence is  ADAPTABILITY

**  May practice Meditation- Not essential
